HistoryThe Erie Maritime Museum has developed these history pages to include the expanded information on the USS Wolverine, the first iron-hulled vessel built by the US Navy, which made her homeport in Erie for almost 80 years. Also featured is information on other vessels named Niagara, Erie, and Pennsylvania, as well as more recent Maritime Heritage, including the Great Lakes Fishing and recreational industries along Pennsylvania’s North Coast. |
